Psychological Assessment
Progressive Group Task (PGT)
What is Checked
The **Progressive Group Task (PGT)** is the first outdoor obstacle task. It evaluates your practical intelligence, physics intuition, cooperation, and boundary rules adherence.
- Physical Adaptability: Working under outdoor conditions and assisting other members physically.
- Structural Intuition: Applying cantilever principles (locking fulcrums) using planks, poles, and ropes.
- Rules Discipline: Absolute compliance with boundary color rules (White/Blue/Red) and the Rigidity Rule.
Methodology
- Four Obstacles: The group must cross 4 consecutive stages of increasing difficulty and complex structures.
- Materials Provided: A wooden plank (Fattah), a bamboo pole (Balli), ropes, and an out-of-bounds load box.
- Time Limit: Typically 40 minutes (2400 seconds) allocated for the entire group.
- Out-of-Bounds Ground: The area between the start bank and target bank is out of bounds (Red).
Advice to Candidates
- Fulcrum Physics: Master the basic cantilever lock. If you place a plank under a horizontal crossbar, weight on the start side locks the far end upwards.
- Anchor Role: If you do not have a bridging solution, act as the anchor. Stand on the start side of the plank to physically balance the bridge for others.
- Color Coding: Memorize colors:
- White: Touchable by candidates and materials.
- Blue: Touchable by candidates only (no materials).
- Red: Out of bounds completely (ground and red structures). - Cooperate, Don't Dominate: Never push or argue. Work systematically as a group to transport the load box safely.
