Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT)
What is Checked
The **Picture Perception and Discussion Test** (PP&DT) is the decisive Stage-1 screening test conducted on Day 1 of the SSB board. It assesses candidate suitability for Stage-2.
- Character Identification: Capacity to establish a central protagonist (age/mood/sex congruence) under short timelines.
- Projection Accuracy: Evaluates if you focus on constructive resolutions rather than getting bogged down by details.
- Group Narrative: Individual narration (1 min) and group discussion to synthesize a common story.
Methodology
- Image Exposure: 30 seconds viewing a highly hazy/blurred image.
- Box Marking: 1 minute to fill age, sex, mood, and write the Action/Title of the story.
- Narrative Writing: 4 minutes to write the complete story (Past, Present, Outcome).
